Volunteer - COMMITTEES
Vermont Adaptive relies on several strong and active committees to conduct tasks that are necessary for the organization's overall success. At least one board member sits on each committee, and except for the executive committee, other committee members might consist of staff, clients, volunteers and/or community members Volunteers are strongly encouraged to join committees.

Board of Directors
Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports board of directors is a volunteer group that consists of up to 10 members, two honorary members, and two volunteer representatives. Vermont Adaptive’s board members serve anywhere from one to three year terms and are typically from Southern and Northern Vermont to represent both program areas.

Governance Committees
Executive Committee: Consists only of board officers. The executive committee's primary concerns are personnel, financial, and resort-relations areas.

Planning Committee: This committee is made up of board officers and others interested in working on long term planning and rewriting the VASS Strategic Plan. This committee will continue to meet through the years.

Financial Committee: This committee reviews and addresses investments and long range financial planning. They make suggestions for financial operations to improve our fiscal reporting.

Development Committee: This committee helps contribute ideas and solutions to achieve Vermont Adaptive’s development and fundraising goals as it complies with the organizations fiduciary, programmatic and financial components. ,

Program Committees

PETS Committee: (Programs, Equipment, Training and Safety) The PETS committee reviews and assesses the current/future recreational programs, advises on the purchasing of adaptive equipment and overall maintenance/rotation needs of equipment. This committee also helps to advise on the development of volunteer and staff training, and makes the issue of program safety it's number one objective.

50 and 100 Mile Race Committee:
This committee is made up of members and volunteers who are intimate with these fundraisers and work to ensure their long-term success and financial support to Vermont Adaptive.
