Other Activities - HIKING
Vermont Adaptive aims at providing opportunities for
people with physical, mental, and development disabilities to learn
the skills, safety procedures, and joys of outdoor recreation. In
addition to basic instruction, we offer our students training on
how to become independent enthusiasts and possibly instructors themselves.
Exploring off the beaten path in Vermont provides a great opportunity
to discover its quiet wooded paths, hidden ponds, and magnificent
vistas. Our hikes are designed to be interesting and invigorating
without being overly challenging. Though truly wheelchair accessible
trails are few and far between, our hiking staff is adept at finding
great out of the way places to start your explorations. They are
full of creative ideas and ready and willing to try to adapt anything
to make your hiking experience all you’ve envisioned and more.
From the casual strolling hiker who enjoys winding dirt roads or
wide easy paths to the thrill seeker always searching for the exhilaration
of craggy mountain peaks and narrow, rocky trails, Vermont has something
to offer everyone. With more than 700 hundred miles of trails throughout
the state, hundreds of miles of back roads and country lanes, there
is plenty of terrain to satisfy every type of hiker.
Hiking is $15.00 per person per outing (2 hours).
