Summary
Providing us with your personal information is an act of trust. VASS will not disclose any of your personal information except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. 

Information Collection and Use 

Event Registration
If someone participates in a VASS event, we ask for contact information such as name, address and email address. That information will be used primarily for contact purposes. We may also add them to our mailing list for future similar events, our bi-annual newsletter or our fundraising efforts. 

The only exception to the above summary is our fundraising events, where we may use third parties to collect registration information. We will make our best effort to ensure that these companies do not retain, share, store or use your personally identifiable information for any other purposes. When you give us your contact information for a fundraising event (e.g. Vermont 50 Mile Ride & Run), we will send you a registration packet for only that event for the next three years. 

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. The VASS web sites does not collect cookies. We do not recognize or capture the e-mail address of visitors to our site, and we don't collect any information that identifies individual visitors. To help us reach our goal of providing a Web site that meets the needs of our visitors, we do monitor traffic patterns on our Web site. We also analyze domain addresses and other site usage data.
Some of our business partners may use cookies on our site (for example, online race registration systems). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies.
