Recreation - SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Client Scholarships
Vermont Adaptive continues to strive to make our programs affordable
for our clients; no student will be denied access to a program due
to financial constraints. We believe everyone has a right to participate
in recreational activities, therefore, we provide scholarships for
those who need financial assistance in order to participate in our
programs. These scholarships are made available on a case by case
basis. For information about individual program scholarships please
contact the program coordinators.
Volunteer Training Scholarships
Vermont Adaptive has made a commitment to our volunteers as well
as our clients. If our programs are to continue to grow and thrive
we must have well trained, technically skilled volunteers and there
are many professional organizations that offer specialized certifications
and training. Our growth depends upon the quality of our volunteers
but we also know that those certifications can be expensive. To
ease some of the costs of these events, Vermont Adaptive is able
to provide limited scholarships for those who need financial assistance.
Applications are accepted seasonally and scholarships are awarded
on a case by case basis.
Some application requirements are:
• Must seek training with a professional organization directly
related to adaptive sports and recreation
• Limited to $250 per person, per year.
• Volunteer will remain committed to VASS to share knowledge
gained for 2 year period
• Program Coordinator must approve request prior to approval
from Program Manager and Executive Director
• On an additional sheet of paper please print how you got
involved with VASS, your experience working with VASS and special
populations, and why you have chosen to pursue your personal development
with the above organization.
