Apprenticeship

Learn While Making a Difference

We’re looking for teens ages 14-17 for our Apprenticeship Program for Summer 2021.  The NEW Vermont Adaptive Apprenticeship program is a free leadership development and coaching program for youth 14-17.

Apprentices will work with Vermont Adaptive staff and interns as junior instructors, assisting with providing biking, mountain biking, paddling, climbing, hiking and other experiences to athletes with a variety of disabilities.  Apprentices will receive training from Vermont Adaptive, access to CPR/FA Training at no charge, and access to BlazeSports America’s Certified Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist training.

Apprentices who complete their commitment will receive a Certificate of Completion and the option to request letters of recommendation from Vermont Adaptive.  We have openings now and through September at our bases in Pico/Rutland, Sugarbush/Central Vermont; and Burlington on the Waterfront.  For more information, contact Tom Alcorn at south@vermontadaptive.org. Schedules for both programs are flexible and can be for short or summer long commitments.
