Become a part of the Vermont Adaptive Community

Vermont Adaptive succeeds because of the dedication of more than 400 highly-trained volunteer instructors. We are searching for energetic, dedicated individuals who have a passion for sports and want to share that passion with others. Our volunteers dedicate their free time to help individuals with disabilities rediscover their abilities and achieve their dreams through sports and recreation. Volunteers are from all walks of life but have one mission in mind – to help those with disabilities enjoy sports and recreation on a daily basis.

Apply to Become a Volunteer/Returning Volunteers

We recognize the need to protect the individuals we serve while preserving the integrity and reputation of the organization. In keeping with current industry standards, for the protection of individuals and the management of risk, we ask all new and returning volunteers to complete the volunteer application process to become a Vermont Adaptive volunteer.

In addition, due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, we do have other Return to Play modifications and guidelines that all volunteers must adhere to.

While we did Return to Play in early July, our programs summer/fall 2020 programs are facilitated solely by Vermont Adaptive staff and interns. Volunteers have yet to return, but we do anticipate the need for you as winter approaches. Our phased Return to Play plan, safety, and guidance from the state will dictate when volunteers can actually return to programs.

You must complete ALL of the following requirements before you can be eligible to return to volunteer, or become a new volunteer, when the Return to Play plan allows.

Please get started on them as soon as you can so that you can join us for training and programming when the time is right!
