Summer Sports

Best Natural Playground: Vermont

Spring and summer afford us the opportunity to get outside and enjoy all that Vermont and its wilderness has to offer! We pack away the parkas and give our participants experiences to make the most of the warmer months on the Green Mountains’ bike paths, hiking trails, waterways, lakes, and ponds — and indoor fun when Ma Nature doesn’t cooperate. We also work with Vermont State Parks to host a variety of events that are accessible for all abilities.

How It’s Done

Vermont Adaptive staff and trained volunteers offer lessons to individuals of all ages with any disability, nearly seven days a week. Our summer season generally runs from June through October.

At Vermont Adaptive, we use many different techniques and equipment for our year round programs. We derive our techniques from professional standards and organizations who, like us, are experts in the field of adaptive sports. We keep a current inventory of adaptive equipment that is adapted to fit the individual’s need as the lesson progresses. Every lesson we teach is tailored for each individual and each program.
